The Wet Bandit

I’ve got a story for you! Have you ever worked in Preschool? If you have, my story may not impress you because, you’ve got stories even better. If you’ve never worked with toddlers or children, you might not understand how this happened.

It all started after breakfast. The children throw away their leftovers and line up to go potty and wash their hands. The last little girl was washing her hands. I saw her with a wet paper towel. She was squeezing the excess water out of it. I assumed she would then throw the paper towel away. So, I walked across the room to encourage cleaning in the Home Living Center.

Well, about ten minutes later……we discovered the Wet Bandit (possibly from the Home Alone movie!) had struck. Apparently, the wet paper towel was in the sink drain, instead of the trash. πŸ˜±πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Water was overflowing out of the sink going in all directions! It was hilarious and shocking. The moral of the story? It’s the Christmas season, be on the lookout for the Wet Bandit! β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Back in the Groove

Y’all having a week off for Thanksgiving has kicked our rears. This has been the longest week ever, and it’s only Wednesday! Nothing bad, just very busy and exhausting. The scheduling at work was kinda of out of whack Monday and Tuesday so, things felt off kilter. Today felt more normal and calm. Here’s a picture of my youngest on the way home Monday and Tuesday.

I was home by 1pm today and did a little cleaning, laundry, drug out some miscellaneous Christmas decor and fed the farm animals. I’ve got to get myself in gear! I need to finish my house and get the tree up. I love Christmas but, it’s a lot of hard work. I need to stay motivated!

I keep looking at the clock and watching the hours slip away. I’ll need to leave to get the boys in less than an hour. Then, Church/Play practice starts at 6. The Christmas program is a comedy this year. It’s adorable, and the children and youth seem to be having a blast at each practice. Hopefully, tonight will go just as smoothly and fun.

Do you have all of your Christmas decorating finished? What about your Christmas shopping? I’ve bought a few gifts here and there the last couple of weeks. I hope your CHRISTmas Season is the best ever.

May God bless each of you.

Thanksgiving Blessings

I hope all of you had an amazing Thanksgiving day with your family and friends. We are so blessed to be able to have spent the entire day with our families.

We started the morning out cooking and then feeding our farm animals, before a day of family time at our parent’s houses. My brother’s family were able to come in from Florida so, we wanted new pics with them. (This doesn’t happen often!) My parents and their 6 grandchildren was the most important requirement of the day. We also made sure to get some sweet cousin shots and my precious Granny with them. My granny has dementia and isn’t getting any better. We want to enjoy all the memories we can, while we still have her with us. These pictures are all very special to me. I’ve snapped tons but, won’t bore you with them all.

I remembered to take lots of pictures at my family’s get together but, failed at even remembering one picture at my in-laws home. 😩 It was a wonderful day and other than one of my calves getting stuck in the mud, pretty close to perfect.

God is so good. I’m so thankful for all of our blessings. Now, on to Christmas shopping, movies, and decorating! Let the Spirit of Christmas begin full force!

Jesus is the reason for the Season. πŸŽ„

Lazy Vacation

The boys are out all week for Thanksgiving break. My oldest is staying with my parents until Thursday’s feast. My youngest and I have been completely lazy. My poor husband still has to work. Boo!

My youngest loves watching fort building on YouTube, and I love watching the Hallmark channel Christmas movies. Just imagine how much we are accomplishing this week. Haha! I’m enjoying sipping coffee. He’s enjoying not fussing over things with his teenage brother. It’s been pretty peaceful around here. (Other than an owl trying to murder my chickens! πŸ™„ Thankful for an amazing guard dog.)

Do you have big plans for Thanksgiving? I figure, I’ll make my final decisions on what sides and desserts I’m cooking, tomorrow. I don’t plan to actually cook for Thanksgiving until Thursday morning. I’m so excited to go to my parents’ and see them, my siblings and adorable nieces! I’m thankful that my brother’s family is on their way from Florida. They aren’t always able to come in so, we are so happy!

I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving full of blessings.

One of Those Days

Have you ever had “one of those days”?! You know a “Monday”? Yesterday, I had a Monday on a Friday. Seriously, it was an intense day. Nothing life threatening or scary, just a really rotten day.

Let’s see…..first of all before work, I went to the barn to feed and water my calves. I scooped up a bucket of water for them. Unfortunately, I bumped the bucket on the gate and it dumped/splashed ALL over my jeans and coat. It was COLD! 6:30 in the morning kind of cold! 😩

Next, my youngest and I were headed to school and my truck broke down. Although some would cry or pitch a fit, I’m so thankful that it broke in front of a shop. I went to school with the guy who owns the place. He pulled my truck off the road, until we can haul it home. Also, I’m so thankful for small towns. A lady from my Church saw us, turned around, and took us to school/work. She also returned at noon to take me home. If you follow my blog, you know that we live 30 minutes away in the country! I’m so incredibly blessed by a great big problem solving God!

Let’s see, I also dumped coffee down my jacket at lunch and later discovered I’d lost a hen. My extra truck also had a bad tire which couldn’t be fixed and they only had an expensive one in stock.

All these things could have put someone in to tears or throwing a fit. I’m working on looking at the positive side and counting my blessings. For example: I use lots of creamer so, my coffee didn’t burn me. I have lots of hens, and she was sweet but, not my most favorite. I’m so thankful that I had the money to buy the tire. I’m also very thankful for a friend’s husband who is hauling my truck home today.

I hope during this Holiday season, you are looking for the many blessings in your life. This world can be so scary and sad. We need more happy, blessing counting people!

Have an amazing weekend and blessed Thanksgiving.

God bless.

Veterans Day

I first want to thank all of those who have fought and served for my freedom. I hope you all have a happy and blessed Veterans Day! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ My family was up before daylight enjoying our freedom. My husband had to work but, my dad and I took my boys hunting this morning. 🦌

I got too excited and missed my chance at a good shot but, I enjoyed the family time. It was cold this morning! I think I’ll add another layer of clothing next round. Did any of you go deer hunting this morning? I was wishing for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, halfway through!

We are home now. I’ve got my coffee and I’m watching Christmas movies. The boys opted for more “manly” show options in the den.

I’ve got some wild hog jerky dehydrating in the kitchen. I should be going grocery shopping but, I think I’ll wait until Monday or so. I love lazy Saturdays. So thankful to all Veterans who’ve given me the freedom to relax.

I’m so excited for Thanksgiving! Although, Easter and Christmas are also loved Holidays, I think Thanksgiving is probably my favorite. It may or may not have to do with all the delicious food! πŸ¦ƒ I hope all of you have time with your family to look forward too.

Have a great weekend!
