Well, we almost made it through a week without a torrential downpour. 😜 Tonight, storms are back with a vengeance. Praying my garden survives another flood & storm. It’s going to be a long summer at this rate. Lol.
On a brighter note (Sorta, I’m sitting here without power. 😉), we had a great week! I was able to make jam for the first time with strawberries from my garden! It was such a blessing & very delicious. I only got 4 jars but, I’ll take it. Lol
My Dad goes on mission trips to Honduras every year. He brought back a huge hammock a couple years ago. We FINALLY got it put up this week. It’s amazing to lay under the trees & listen to the birds chirp & watch the leaves blow. 😍 It’s perfect, except when my dog, Jingle Bells, climbs up on us. 😳😂
After my boys & Jingle joined me, I climbed out of the hammock & went to look at my garden once more before dark. I found two green beans!!!! I’m so excited!!! Other than strawberries & lettuce, it’s my first sign of garden blessings. Now let me tell you, I’ve never grown beans in my garden before. I’m not sure if my green bean plants are supposed to be as ugly & scrawny as they are. Maybe it’s normal but, they sure look rough. Lol. I wasn’t expecting much from them. Hopefully, everything survives tonight & tomorrow’s storms. I’m so thankful to have a garden & farm. I do not miss working outside the home. I love gardening so much.
On to my boys, my youngest is about to graduate from kindergarten! 😢 He’s had a great year & an amazing teacher. My oldest will complete 8th grade next Friday! Oh mercy, I don’t know if I’m ready for a High Schooler!!!! 😱 He’s already gotten his permit & begging me to drive every day. Lord, help me.
I hope y’all have a great weekend & awesome Mother’s Day! God bless your homes. ~A
